Have not upgraded to Windows 7 yet? Not certain if you should take the dive? We here at Ultimate PC Repair purchased Windows 7 and installed it on our HP Pavilion dv8408US Notebook .

Windows 7 comes with to dvds and you install on or the other dvd. The dvds are for 32 bit and 64 bit installations and are designed to be upgraded from Windows Vista. Its poosible to upgrade from Windows XP, but its a rather complex operation.

To find out which dvd you should use, watch the watch entire video above. The installation is almost like that of upgrading from XP to Vista. After the installation was completed, Windows 7 started just fine and seem to be much faster than Vista.

After installation however, we noticed that many applications failed to work and when we started others, Windows 7 just rebooted the computer. The solution was to update our Video Driver.

And same procedure had to be performed for our sound device driver. Here is the interface of Windows 7 and we will run other tasks and compare it with Vista.

Overall, we believe Windows 7 is an improvement over Vista, especially when it comes to speed. We will send other articles concerning the operation and performance of Windows 7 in the days to come.
